Do you have any questions?

Take a look and see if there is an answer.

Who can breed with the Windsprite Friends?

Any reputable breeder can breed with the Windsprite Friends.

Breeders must be members of IHR eV and the Windsprite Friends.

Stud dog owners only need membership in the Windsprite Friends.

Can I breed with a dog without a pedigree at the Windsprite Friends?

No.

It is important to be able to trace the origin of the breeding at any time in order to be able to influence it and avoid undesirable breeding results.

Is my dog’s ZZP sufficient?

Yes.

If your dog has already successfully completed a ZZP (breeding approval test), you obviously do not have to take another ZZP with the Windsprite friends.

We also trust other judges and breeding supervisors to make a qualified assessment of your dog.

Are our male dogs allowed to mate in other clubs?

Yes

Males from the Windsprite Friends are also welcome to mate with females from other clubs. We are very much in favor of working across clubs and fair exchange. FOR the health of the breed.

BUT!

We won’t let ourselves be exploited!

We make our male dogs available, although in return we may use male dogs from other clubs.

In our opinion, clubs that do not open up and reject cross-club work are no longer in keeping with the times.

We do not accept arguments such as "the breeding regulations or club policy would not allow this".

Where there is a will, there's a way.

From which club do the puppies receive their pedigrees?

The Windsprite Friends puppies receive their pedigrees from our parent association, IHR e. V.

The family trees are bound with a hard cover and are forgery-proof.

The issuing of the pedigrees runs smoothly and promptly. Breeders receive the pedigree passports approximately 4 weeks after submitting the documents.

The puppies are registered in the stud book of IHR eV.

Who is the YOU eV?

The IHR eV (International Association of Dog Lovers of All Breeds) was founded in 1994. The IHR eV currently supports around 1,000 members worldwide, with various sub-associations and sub-groups.

One of them is the Windsprite Friends.

The IHR eV maintains an open stud book.

The statutes and breeding regulations of the IHR eV apply to the Windsprite Friends.

Why not just one club in Germany?

We are of the opinion that every association has its legitimacy.

People are different, breeding methods are different. But does that mean breeding without papers? We say no, that doesn't have to be the case.

In our opinion, tolerance is not just a word. It is possible to have different views on breeding and still discover commonalities.

The clubs should open up and benefit from each other's pool of overlap. FOR the breed.

Why another Silken Windsprite “Club”?

In Germany, before the Windsprite Friends, there were four clubs in which the Silken Windsprite and the Longhair Whippet were bred.

None of these clubs met all of our requirements.

- Exchange of stud dogs

- open stud book

- no deletion of the kennel name when changing

- flexible ZZP appointments

- Sale of puppies without any say

- Breeding with pedigree

- Breeding without a high proportion of Borzoi

- Willingness to cooperate

- social skills

- friendly interaction

- not only take, also give

- good contact between board and members

We tolerate other clubs and expect the same tolerance towards us.

Is a backcross or outcross possible?

Yes.

Read more about this under "Breeding Method".
