To register the dog for the breeding suitability test you need:

  1. Genetic testing

Detection by cheek swab or blood sample via CEA and MDR1, as well as DNA fingerprinting or DNA enrollment detection.

Recommended DNA fingerprinting and DNA parentage testing at the Slowgen laboratory.

The sample is taken once by the veterinarian or breeding supervisor, and the identity is checked at the same time.

2. LÜW (lumbosacral transitional vertebra)

X-ray evidence of LÜW. The dog may be x-rayed at the earliest when it is 12 months old and does not need to be anesthetized for this examination. The dog's identity must be proven beyond doubt by the dog (chip check). The LÜW form from the Windsprite Friends must be used.

3. Sonography of the heart

The examination must be carried out by a veterinarian or in a veterinary clinic that has the appropriate license for the evaluation and the necessary equipment. The earliest examination is at 15 months of age. The dog's identity must be proven beyond doubt by the veterinarian (chip check).

Important:

All test results must be proven without being asked to do so during the breeding suitability test by making corresponding entries in the pedigrees or by submitting the corresponding evaluations and test forms.

Please send a copy of all test results to the Windsprite friends Mrs. Ohlmeier.
